Zhongshan recently rolled out a set of policy measures to further promote the development of the optoelectronics and optics sectors.
The measures cover 10 aspects, including sci-tech innovation, technology research, equipment renewal, digital transformation, industrial agglomeration, collaborative innovation, new business forms cultivation, financial integration, industrial space and talent attraction.
In terms of sci-tech innovation carrier construction, Zhongshan will provide a maximum subsidy of 10 million yuan for national and provincial major innovation platforms, and a maximum subsidy of 2 million yuan for newly-recognized provincial new-type R&D institutions.
In terms of original, leading, core technology research, a maximum subsidy of 10 million yuan will be granted to eligible projects. Optoelectronics and optics companies are encouraged to undertake major national and provincial sci-tech tasks, with a maximum subsidy of 5 million yuan provided. In addition, a maximum subsidy of 5 million yuan will be granted to optoelectronics and optics companies carrying out technology R&D.
Strong support will be given to the renewal of optoelectronics and optics equipment and systems. A maximum reward of up to 20% (20 million yuan top) of the total cost of newly purchased equipment and systems for a single technical reform project with a total investment exceeding 5 million yuan.
In terms of talent innovation and entrepreneurship, a maximum subsidy of 30 million yuan will be granted to optoelectronics and optics companies that introduce innovative research teams on a trial basis. Meanwhile, for overseas returned talents starting businesses in the optoelectronics and optics fields, a maximum start-up fund of 2 million yuan will be available, in addition to venue support of 500 square meters for up to 4 years.
The measures will be valid until December 31, 2025.
