The South China Modern Traditional Chinese Medicine City pharmaceutical technology park has recently commenced construction. This is another major project launched after the Medicine City was rated as a provincial industrial park in Guangdong.

The park covering 65 mu (about 4.33 hectares) will include 10 factory buildings and 2 dormitory buildings. It will be built into a modern pharmaceutical technology hub integrating product development and production, office space and supporting services.

The park has attracted a number of innovative enterprises in such fields as biopharmaceuticals, medical devices, cosmetics and TCM decoction pieces.

So far, Cuiheng New District has gathered a batch of industrial development platforms and top research institutions, including South China Modern Traditional Chinese Medicine City, Zhongshan Life Science Park and Zhongshan Institute for Drug Discovery, as well as leading enterprises such as Akeso, Zebra and Wanhan.
