Phoenix Coating Technology Innovation (Guangdong) Co, a startup incubated by the Zhongshan Institute of Changchun University of Science and Technology, has signed shareholder agreements to close a 6.248-million-yuan angel-round financing.

Founded in 2025, Phoenix specializes in high-energy plasma-assisted magnetron sputtering systems and laser-damage-resistant optical coatings. Its proprietary technologies have already gained validation from leading Chinese laser manufacturers and national research labs.

The raised funds will be mainly used to supplementary procurement of production equipment, facility upgrades, technology R&D and working capital reserves.
