Under the escort of Zhongshan maritime authorities, a 103-meter deep-sea aquaculture farm facility was towed out of port from the Shenwan Linghang Shipyard on June 30.

The semi-submersible truss-type farm, the first such facility in Zhongshan to supply Hong Kong, has a water volume of 30,000 cubic meters and is capable of yielding over 500,000 kilograms of fish per production cycle. It is owned by the Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government and will be leased to Hong Kong fishermen for deep-sea aquaculture.

Once operational, the facility will supply high-quality deep-sea fish to the Hong Kong market, offering residents fresher, safer, higher-quality cultured marine fish.
