The first Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH) traditional craftsmanship workstation in Zhongshan was officially inaugurated in Ju Xiang Yuan Health Food (Zhongshan) Co Ltd on June 19. This means Zhongshan's almond cake making craftsmanship will be further inherited and developed.

The workstation was established under the guidance of the Zhongshan Intangible Cultural Heritage Protection Center and the Zhongshan Intangible Cultural Heritage Center. It works on integration of ICH resources, inheritor training, ICH skills demonstration, and others.

At the workstation, people can acquire the full craftsmanship of almond cake making from ICH inheritors.

The workstation will also partner up with multiple parties (enterprises, colleges and universities, associations, governments, etc) to integrate scientific achievements with traditional skills and strengthen inheritance and training of ICH skills, so as to help the time-honored brand go further.

Ju Xiang yuan was founded in the last years of Guangxu period in the Qing Dynasty, and its traditional almond cake craftsmanship was included in the Guangdong Intangible Cultural Heritage List in 2009.

It is reported that Zhongshan will launch another one or two new ICH traditional craftsmanship workstations this year.
