Miao Baijiang instructs children on Cantonese opera performance.

An intangible cultural heritage promotion activity with the theme of "Wonderful Children's Cantonese Opera Performance" was held at Guiyuan Community, Shiqi District on August 13.

The activity was jointly sponsored by Guiyuan Community, Zhongshan Qunxing Cantonese Opera Troupe and the Zhongshan Good People Studio (Miao Baijiang).

Miao Baijing, a professional Cantonese opera performer, introduced the origin and development of Cantonese opera culture to the students, taught about the basic categories of Cantonese opera performance techniques, Cantonese opera costumes, headdresses and others, and showed the basic performance and singing skills.

Students also enjoyed such performances as "Princess Chang Ping" during the activity and took a closer look at Cantonese opera costumes and props to further understand, experience and learn about the charm of Cantonese opera.
