The first China Farmers’ Harvest Festival (Meizhou) Expo opened on September 23. Zhongshan special farm products including Shenwan Pineapple, Tanzhou Guava, Juixiangyuan Almond Cake and etc made debut and were highly favored by visitors.
Other exhibiting Zhongshan delicacies and folk handicrafts also gained popularity. For example, more than 100 paper-cut works created by Zhongshan “Paper-cut Master” Liang Jiekang specially for the first China Farmers’ Harvest Festival were snapped up by visitors.
Reportedly, the disposable personal income of permanent residents in rural areas in Zhongshan reaches 30,012 yuan, which is among the top in the province, Zhongshan Agricultural Bureau says. The income ratio of urban and rural residents has shrunk to the smallest 1.51:1 in Guangdong.
