Among Longan varieties in Zhongshan, the one with crispy pulp produced in Jiuzhouji Community in Xiaolan Town is the most famous. After years of cultivation and optimization by competent fruit authorities, Zhongshan Crispy Longan, a super-grade variety of Shixia Longan, has appeared on the market with better quality.

It features large fruit, small kernel, thick pulp and crispy taste. The edible part accounts for nearly 70% of its whole fruit and the average weight for each fruit can reach 9.36g.

At present, a production base covering an area of over 2,000 hectares has been established in Zhongshan, with an annual output of more than 2,000 tons. Most of the fruits are sold to Hong Kong, Macao and other regions.
