The Nantou Yellow Croaker Feast Intangible Cultural Heritage Food Carnival opened at Jufu Baoheyuan Restaurant on July 2 and will run for five days.
On the opening day, Wang Shenhui, the inheritor of Nantou Yellow Croaker Feast Culinary Skills, demonstrated the preparation of the signature dish "Yellow Croaker Sashimi". Many yellow croaker dishes, such as Steamed Yellow Croaker with Soybean Sauce and Fried Yellow Croaker Spawns, were also displayed on-site.
The Nantou Yellow Croaker Feast Culinary Skills was included in the representative items list of municipal intangible cultural heritage last month.
Nine restaurants in Nantou, including Jufu Baoheyuan Restaurant, are chosen as the first partners to promote the Nantou Yellow Croaker Feast. During the Carnival, residents and tourists can enjoy this special ICH feast with discounts.
On that day, a tourist group of over 20 people from Hong Kong and Shenzhen came specially to enjoy the Yellow Croaker Feast and visited the Nantou Intangible Cultural Heritage Museum, the Nantou Home Appliances Museum and local enterprises.
