Around the Vietnamese Spring Festival holiday, crispy grass carp from Zhongshan has been continuously shipped to Vietnam, adding more festive vibes to the local dining tables.
According to Ding Hongliang, manager of pond fish department of Zhongshan Shuichu Group, crispy grass carp from Zhongshan has successfully opened up the Southeast Asian market thanks to its unique taste and high nutritional value.
Zhongshan Shuichu Group started to ship live eels, soft-shelled turtles, snakehead fish and other products to Vietnam, Thailand and other markets since last year.
Since November last year, Zhongshan Shuichu Group has been doing crispy grass carp export business on a regular basis. It purchases crispy grass carp from large farmers in Xiaolan, Minzhong and Gangkou and ships them by road to Hanoi, Vietnam via Guangxi.
The Vietnamese Spring Festival holiday spanned from January 25 to February 2. During this period, crispy grass carp sales surged due to its unique taste and the auspicious meaning of "richer and richer".
So far, Zhongshan Shuichu Group has exported 30 shipments of over 235 tons of Xiaolan crispy grass carp to Vietnam.
Also, Zhongshan Shuichu Group guaranteed the supply of live fish to the Hong Kong and Macao regions during the Spring Festival holiday.
In addition to fresh food, Zhongshan Shuichu Group has also developed ready-made products with crispy grass carp, such as Cantonese-style sauerkraut fish, which are widely exported to the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries.
