The third session of the 16th People's Congress of Sanjiao Town was held on September 27. It was decided that Bougainvillea glabra was the “The Flower of Sanjiao Town”. 

Bougainvillea glabra can be seen on the streets in Sanjiao. Deputies to the People's Congress believed bougainvillea glabra is able to reflect Sanjiao’s natural landscape. Bougainvillea glabra grows widely, with good implication and people’s love, and brings positive meaning to the manifestation of the town’s urban taste, humanistic spirit and promotion of ecological civilization. In that case it was chosen the “Flower of Sanjiao Town”.
