A folk team formed by more than 1,700 overseas Zhongshanese will make debut in Charity Parade this year for the first time.

Since 1988, Zhongshan Charity Parade has become a platform for overseas Zhongshanese to make contribution to the development of their hometown and an important ritual for people doing homecoming activity, according to Zhongshan Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau. An amount of more than 2bn yuan has been donated to Zhongshan Charity Parade by overseas Zhongshanese.

By February 26, more than 40 mass organizations from Hong Kong and Macao and overseas Chinese groups registered for Charity Parade this year.
