The 1st Zhongshan Blind Poetry Contest cum Prose Writing Competition, themed on “Marching on the Bright Road”, was held on the afternoon of April 23 in the Writers and Artists Activity Center of Zhongshan Literary Federation in Shiqi District. 15 blind people from different towns "described the 'sunshine' in their lives" with poems and proses.

“Braveness and confidence bring them here to join the contest. We hope ‘sunshine’ can also get into blind people’s hearts.” Said Liang Liqin, Right Protection Director of Zhongshan Disabled Persons Federation. She believed people with disabilities can also infect people around them with self-motivation and delivery positive energy to others.
