Zhongshan recently issued “The Subsidy Administration Measures for Cultural Heritage Protection Projects” in order to strengthen the protection of cultural heritage. The Measures specifiy the subsidizing coverage and limit for cultural relic conservation projects and intangible heritage protection projects.

According to The Measures, maintenance and protection projects of cultural relics of national, provincial and municipal cultural relics protection units are all covered by the subsidy. Each of the projects with repairing budget of over 50,000 yuan can be subsidized 1 million yuan at most.

The subsidy for intangible cultural heritage protection projects is mainly used for the representative projects of intangible cultural heritage at municipal-level and above, inheritors, bases and other units or individuals to carry out protection and inheritance activities.
