The 2019 "Beauty of Book Zhongshan" Reading Campaign will start on Sunday, April 21. The campaign, with its theme "Enjoy Reading and Cheer for Our Motherland," will last until September. Its three major parts, include theme reading activities for celebrating the 70th anniversary of China's new founding, "World Book and Copyright Day" serial activities, and "Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area" reading and sharing activities.

This year, the organizing committee will also carry out a reading competition, a Chinese character writing competition, online book sharing sessions, a stamp and postcard design competition, an essay competition, and other reading-related activities. A total of 19 township self-service libraries will simultaneously open to the public on the campaign's opening day.

On April 23, the World Book and Copyright Day, theme activities such as the "Xiangshan Lectures," "Micro Lectures for Employees," and the "Zhongshan Youth Assembly" will be presented.

Additionally, during the campaign, theme activities including the "Read for Half an Hour" salon, reading sessions, and employees reading competition, will be held to boost "Greater Bay Area Cultural Circle" development.
