A high jumper.[Zhongshan Daily/Yu Zhaoyu]

The 4-day track and field events for township students of The 8th Games of Zhongshan concluded a few days ago at the Xingzhong Stadium. 

There were 3 divisions, namely Senior High (Vocational) School Division (i.e. Group A), Junior High School Division (i.e. Group B) and Primary School Division (i.e. Group C). A total of 774 athletes from 24 townships and 12 schools competed for running, shot put, high jump, triathlon and other events, with 87 gold medals produced and 23 annual city records broken. 

In the end, No. 1 Middle School of Zhongshan won the first place of Group A with 465 points, followed by Zhongshan Xiaolan Senior High School and Sun Yat-sen Memorial Secondary School, with 289 and 245.5 points respectively. 

The Xiaolan team won the first place of Group B with 296 points, followed by the Huangpu and the Sanjiao teams, with 226 and 213 points respectively.

The Torch Development Zone team won the first place of Group C with 231 points, followed by the Fusha and the Xiaolan teams, with 207 and 180 points respectively.

Dongfeng Polytechnic School, Zhongshan Overseas Chinese Secondary School, Zhongshan Xiaolan Senior High School and No.1 Middle School of Zhongshan won the ethic awards of Group A, while the Guzhen, Huangpu, Minzhong, Shaxi, Shiqi and Xiaolan teams won the ethic awards of Group B and Group C.
