The first self-service library in Guzhen Town, which is located next to the Party and the masses service center in the Guzhen Culture Park, was completed in April. People can get in for reading or registering a library card with an ID card.

Covering an area of 60 m2, the library is designed as a book bar with a special area for children. It can accommodate about 20 people at the same time.

According to Ou Yongjun, director of the library, an average of over 100 people visited the library every day since its opening on April 21.

"As Guzhen's economy develops, people's cultural demand is also growing. We have built cultural service facilities in every village in the town. We are also planning to build more 'large study rooms' of this kind in the future," said Zhang Yongyi, Vice Director of the Guzhen Publicity Services Center. "In this or next year, Guzhen will built one or two more self-service libraries."

As the Lighting Capital of China, Guzhen has many light outlets. Zhang Yongyi calls up more operators to get involved in building self-service libraries in the light outlets.
