Zhongshan held a meeting on promoting the establishment of the National Public Cultural Service System Demonstration Zone and the National Region-based Tourism Demonstration Zone (hereinafter referred to as the two-dimension establishment) on the morning of July 8 at Zhongshan Culture, Radio, Television and Tourism Bureau.

It is reported that public cultural facility construction of Zhongshan has made new progress in the last stage of the establishment of the National Public Cultural Service System Demonstration Zone. Main body of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library has been completed, with its internal decoration and equipment installation and debugging being carried out. Moreover, the library is expected to be operational at the end of 2019. The new Zhongshan Museum is currently under construction.

Zhongshan proceeds with the construction of public cultural infrastructures and has achieved full coverage of comprehensive cultural service centers in 275 administrative villages (communities). A total of 23 self-service street libraries are built and put into use. In the next stage, the application, evaluation and construction of town- and district-level self-service libraries will be carried out, and efforts will be made to build 12 new self-service libraries within 2019.

Presently, every 10,000 people in Zhongshan have indoor public cultural facilities covering an area of 1,500 square meters.

Towns and districts have achieved remarkable results in the last stage of the establishment of the National Region-based Tourism Demonstration Zone. Dachong and Guzhen, for example, were built into national-level characteristic towns featuring rosewood culture and decorative lighting respectively.

Zhongshan also implements the rural revitalization strategy and vigorously promotes the development of ancient villages, modern agriculture and other rural resources. As of the beginning of this year, there had been 16 provincial-level demonstration sites for leisure agriculture and rural tourism, 3 demonstration towns, 1 characteristic tourism town and 2 characteristic villages.
