Zhongshan Parallel Session of the 2019 South China Book Festival and the 11th Zhongshan Book Fair kicked off last Friday in Zhongshan Expo Center. The opening time of the book fair will be extended to 10pm every day. The exhibition is shortened from 5 days to 4 and will be concluded tonight.

According to the organizing committee, the 12,000-square meter main venue of the book fair this year covers the theme publication display area, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area culture exhibition area, brand press (group) exhibition area, famous bookstore display area, digital reading display area, cultural creative products display area, celebrities' lecture area, and catering and rest area.

This book fair is oriented at the concept of "digital reading". The exhibition area contains three booths of Himalaya FM audio library, COL digital reading products exhibition and Guangzhou Digital Publishing. Among them, the Himalaya FM's offline experience scene - audio space, will provide the public with a variety of reading forms. At the creative "Headphone Forest", citizens can listen to a lot of contents with headphones on.

A display area for well-known brand bookstores is set up, with Xinhua Bookstore, Pok Art Bookstore, Changxin Wenhua Qiusuo Bookstore and other members of local publishing association and special book suppliers of other cities participating in the exhibition.

The organizing committee deliberately held the 2nd "Hundreds of Good Books" recommendation activity before the opening of the book fair. After the vote of citizens, the recommendation of celebrities and the selection of the organizing committee, a hundred of good books stood out, which can all be found at the book fair.

Citizens who buy books at the fair can also take part in the "Government-Paid Books for Citizens" activity. Readers who hold a valid library card of the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library or libraries of the towns (districts) can select books from the bid winner at the fair and handle the book lending procedures without paying any fee.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of New China. Oriented at this theme, the organizing committee has deliberately prepared a series of featured booths and activities. Among them, the theme publication display area, the 70th anniversary stamp exhibition of China Post, photo exhibition of Sun Yat-sen's reading career, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Culture Exhibition Area, Cultural and Creative Boutique Exhibition Area, and Aerospace STEAM Experience Museum are the highlights of this book fair.

Nearly 20 guests from different fields are invited to provide lectures at the book fair, featuring reading, film, Chinese studies, education, health and other topics.
