Despite the hot weather, dozens of U11 and U12 players of the Zhongshan Youth Football Team were being trained under the guidance of their coach at the Xingzhong Stadium on July 13.

In early June, under the guidance of the Zhongshan Education and Sports Bureau, Zhongshan Campus Football Association selected these young players out of more than 700 candidates by open selection. After a period of training, about 20 players will be chosen to participate in the "Governor Cup" in September and other football competitions in representation of Zhongshan.

The training team is coached by Wu Pingfeng, former China international from Zhongshan. Three coaches from Brazilian football club Santos FC are also invited to guide the training. (Photo by Xia Shengquan)
