The "Zhongshan Road" Essay Competition, co-sponsored by the Zhongshan Committee Office of the CPPCC and the Prose Creation Committee of the Guangdong Writers' Association, was launched a few days ago.

Entries are solicited from Chinese writers all over the world, focusing on the characters and events related to the construction and development of the Zhongshan Road (or the road related to Sun Yat-sen) in each city. This is to reflect on the original connection between Sun Yat-sen and each city, as well as the development and changes in each city.

The work submitted shall be original prose unpublished. The solicitation period is from September 10 to October 25. Entries can be submitted to zhongshanlu2019@163.com.

Awards setting: one first prize, with a bonus of 5,000 yuan; two second prizes, with a bonus of 3,000 yuan for each; three third prizes, with a bonus of 1,000 yuan for each; ten excellence prizes, with a bonus of 300 yuan for each.

Zhongshan Road is the world's most popular road name. According to incomplete statistics, there are more than 360 roads around the world named after or related to Dr Sun Yat-sen.
