The Zhongshan City Library recently released this year's summer vacation reading report of citizens.

The report shows that from July 1 to August 31, all libraries in Zhongshan received about 1.198 million readers, with an average of 19,300 per day. A total of 394,398 books were borrowed, with a daily average of 6,361. Some 28,826 people newly registered as a reader, with a year-on-year growth of 283.1%, and 464 new readers were registered every day.

Specifically, the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library received a total of 88,348 readers, up 37.6% year-on-year. The library has gradually become an important place for citizens to read, study, exchange and relax.

In the first half of this year, a total of 19 self-service libraries opened across the city. All of them were built according to uniform standards.
