Anti-drug microfilm 'Metamorphosis' released
Updated: 2019-11-01    Source: Southern Metropolis Daily Large Medium Small Print

Funded by West District Anti-drug Office, public welfare microfilm "Metamorphosis" was released a few days ago by the West District Anti-drug Social Work Service Center.

The microfilm tells the story of a drug addict who, with the help of anti-drug social workers, adjusts his awareness, actively participates in a drug rehabilitation program, regains the support of his family, gets his lover back, and later on enjoys the trust of his coworkers.

According to Li Jiayi, Director of the West District's Anti-drug Social Work Program, the inspiration of the microfilm comes from social workers' actual anti-drug experiences over many years. Through this microfilm, anti-drug social workers hope that the public will be able to understand the hardships faced by drug addicts in returning to productive society. They hope to reduce the "negative labels" placed on drug addicts, and they try to advocate that the public work together to create a friendly environment for accepting those who want to give up their drug habits.
