The annual "Government-Paid Books for Citizens" activity has started. From now until November 20, readers holding the membership cards of Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library service system (main and branch libraries) can go to the designated bookstores to obtain books that are covered by this promotional campaign.

The 5 designated bookstores include Pok Art Bookstore, Xinhua Bookstore, Qiusuo Bookstore, Shouzhuo Study and Xiaolan Book Center.

Books need to be reviewed on WeChat in advance before readers can get the selected books at the bookstores. For books that conform to the rules of the promotion, readers can select them and hand them over to the staff for simple package. After going through the checkout procedures, they can take them home to read. When finished reading, readers can return the books to Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library or any of the other designated town (district) libraries nearby. The purchase of books is paid by Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library, and readers do not need to pay any fees.

At the same time, the "Love Reading Network" system is expected to open on September 22. Readers can select and purchase books on this online platform, and the fees and postage charges for purchasing books will be covered by the "Government-Paid Books for Citizens" activity.

The funding for this year's promotion is 4.7 million yuan, and the promotion will end when the fund are used up.
