"Like the Dyer's Hand", the only biopic authorized by Yeh Chia-ying, a 96-year-old master of ancient Chinese poems, was recently released in Zhongshan.

"Like the Dyer's Hand" is a production of Tsun-shing Chen, a famous director from Taiwan, China. It records the tough life of Ye Jiaying.

Yeh Chia-ying lived through wars and national calamities. She once left her hometown and went to a strange foreign country. In many dark and desperate moments of her life, it was poems that brought her inner strength. So, she also spent her whole life to passing on the heritage of Chinese culture and describing the beauty of classical poems.

Through 10 regions and 43 interviewees, it took nearly two years for the film crew to complete the shooting and production. This film shows Yeh Chia-ying's love for poems and her hard life experiences. She devoted herself to the teaching and dissemination of poems and adhered to a life philosophy of the "beauty of passive virtues".
