A set of light paintings presenting Zhongshan's unique culture and tourism resources were showed to the world online days before. Weibo topic "Lighting Up Zhongshan With Glimmers" attracted over 2.17 million views, triggering discussions about Zhongshan across the country.
It turned out that the Zhongshan-based KOHI Art company recently joined hands with Roy Wang, a Chinese light painting artist, to draw such mythical creatures of the Classic of Mountains and Seas as Dragon, Kun, Xiezhi and Phoenix using light and at different places of Zhongshan.
This light paintings were created basing on Zhongshan's local elements, including the Drunken Dragon Dance, Shengshi Phoenix Dance and Shachong Ma's Spear, as well as distinctive landmarks, including the Former Residence of Fangcheng in Nanlang Town's Zuobu Village, the Zhongshan Culture & Art Center and the Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library.
"We would like to promote the city and let more young people in Zhongshan, Guangdong and even other places across the country feel the strong vitality of cultural and artistic entrepreneurship, urban environment and other creative resources in Zhongshan, so as to attract more of them to come and do something special. As a result, Zhongshan can be connected to the outside world in terms of cultural and creative resources," said Li Haifeng, founder of KOHI Art.
