In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, a large art performance was held in the Grand Theater of the Zhongshan Culture & Art Center on the evening of June 29.

The performance features the glorious centennial history of the CPC, integrating major events in Zhongshan, Guangdong and the whole country across various historical periods, and consisting of a Prologue, Epilogue and 4 major chapters: "Eventful Times" (1921-1949), "The Sun and Moon Shine on a New Day" (1949-1978), "Don't Look Back" (1978-2012), and "Endeavoring in a New Era" (2012-present) give the audience a glimpse into the different stages of the history of the Party.

The performance showed the great achievements of the CPC over the past 100 years in an artistic way combining literature, music, dance, accompaniment, film and television and incorporated local folk elements like Salty Water Songs, as well as modern art expressions including rap and street dance.

The performers were people from all walks of life in Zhongshan, including students, teachers, workers, and compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao.

It is worth mentioning that this was the first time in Zhongshan 4K HDR and wide color gamut technology was used for live recording. The performance was broadcast live on multiple platforms.
