The 2021 2021 Chinese and Overseas Chinese (Zhongshan) Essay Competition was launched at Zhongshan Daily on July 16.

Chinese citizens living abroad, compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao, and mainland middle school students can submit their essays from July 16 to September 20.

For the first time, the competition set up divisions in Hong Kong and Macao, and a new competition mode featuring initial study resources followed by the main competition was adopted for the first time. An "Online Study Tour" was developed on the "Online Letters from Home" platform to present rich learning materials about China's history and achievements, the history of the Communist Party of China and the development of Zhongshan to overseas students and students from China's Hong Kong and Macao.
