In celebration of the 100th anniversary of the Communist Party of China, a Cantonese opera show with the theme of "Paying Tribute to the CPC" was held on August 11 at the Zhongshan Workers' Cultural Palace to eulogize the great motherland and its extraordinary journey.

The show kicked off with "Embroidering the Red Flag", a selection from classic revolutionary opera "Sister Jiang". Later, the performers rendered "Visiting the Poor and the Suffering", a classic selection from Cantonese opera "Storm in Mountain Village". In addition, two opera highlights, "Wits" and "Sha Jia Bang Assault" from modern Cantonese opera "Sha Jia Bang", were given to tell the audience classic stories from the revolutionary period.
