During the Dragon Boat Festival period, Zhongshan Foreign Affairs Bureau organized local foreign residents and their families in Zhongshan to experience the folk customs in Bokai Community.

During the activity, the host explained the origin and customs of Dragon Boat Festival, and volunteers showed the methods and steps of making rice dumplings. With the help of volunteers, participants mastered the skills of making rice dumplings quickly.

Later, volunteers helped Chinese and foreign residents to experience another Dragon Boat Festival custom - making mugwort sachets. Foreign residents said the activity was very interesting, and they could not only learn about Chinese traditional culture, but also strengthen exchanges with other residents in the community and feel the charm of Chinese traditional festivals.

Representatives of Zhongshan Foreign Affairs Bureau and the Exit-Entry Administration Division of Zhongshan Public Security Bureau joined the activity with foreign friends. Some students returning from overseas assisted in the translation and communication as bilingual volunteers.
