Judokas from Zhonghsna win golds at Asian Judo Open

The Asian Judo Open 2022 concluded in Kazakhstan on August 15, and the Chinese judo team won 7 gold, 5 silver and 8 bronze medals.

There were 7 men and women divisions, with a total of 154 athletes from 6 Asian countries and regions participating, including 15 male judokas and 14 female judokas from the Chinese judo team.

Judo athletes Sun Anqi and Liu Yi from Zhongshan Sports School won the Women's 70kg and 78kg Judo championships respectively.

Born in 1996, Sun joined the Zhongshan Sports School's women's judo team at her age of 10, and won the silver medal in the Women's 70kg Judo event at the 14th National Games held in Shaanxi in 2021. In 2010, Liu joined Zhongshan Sports School from Torch Development Zone, and won the third place in the Women's 78kg Judo event at the 14th National Games in 2021.

Sun and Liu plans to start the preparation for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
