On April 22, nearly 200 Tibetan students from Zhongshan Experimental Middle School visited Caobian Village with a history of nearly 1,000 years.
"Located in South District, Caobian is one of the best-preserved ancient villages in Zhongshan. Founded in the Southern Song Dynasty, the village has a history of nearly 1,000 years. There are still a lot of Lingnan-style houses and fortified towers left over from the Ming and Qing dynasties, as well as overseas Chinese houses." On the morning of April 22, led by Wu Junwei, first Party secretary of Beixi Community, the students walked around Caobian to explore the village.
Old fortified towers, Wuhou Temple, Caobian School, Yingyuanli, ancient streets and alleys, big banyan trees… During the visit, the students experienced the profound cultural heritage of the ancient village. At the same time, they listened to the stories of Zhongshan's overseas Chinese who started from scratch, have been concerned about their motherland, and have repaid their hometown by building schools and factories.
"We were touched by the stories of overseas Chinese who are working hard abroad but have always thought of and contributed to their hometown," said Zhang Yunshu and Li Xinyu, both eighth graders. They, who were deeply touched, hoped to return after finishing their studies to develop Tibet.
