Residents at the 13th Zhongshan Book Fair.

The 2023 South China Book Festival (Zhongshan), also the 15th Zhongshan Book Fair, is scheduled to take place at the Zhongshan Expo Center from August 18 to 22, with relevant activities across the city.

As of July 26, twenty exhibition areas have been set up in the Zhongshan Expo Center, covering a total area of 16,000 square meters. More than 40 publishers, including Guangdong People's Publishing House and Shenzhen Publishing Group, have confirmed participation with more than 60,000 publications.

The 15th Zhongshan Book Fair will feature 200 reading activities in the main venue, including master lectures, book release ceremonies and reading sessions, as well as 500 cultural and reading promotion activities in towns and districts.

The Zhongshan municipal government will set aside 1 million yuan to subsidize residents in book purchases, and the organizing committee will issue book vouchers worth 5 million yuan in total to the public.

An AI-powered reading exhibition area and a digital reading exhibition area will be set up for the first time to treat readers to a new experience of reading.

One of the highlights of this year's book fair is to invite renowned experts, scholars and writers to join offline reading promotion activities. Online activities will also be delivered to readers via WeChat Channels, Douyin and other live streaming platforms.
