The adult dragon and lion dance competitions of the 9th Games of Zhongshan came to an end on August 9 amid the deafening sound of gongs and drums.

A total of 219 athletes from 11 towns and districts of Zhongshan competed in three events: Traditional Chinese Southern Lion Dance, High-pole Chinese Southern Lion Dance and Dragon Dance. Finally, Xiaolan Town, West District and Torch Development Zone won the top three team places.

Shaxi Town was crowned in the most creative High-pole Chinese Southern Lion Dance competition. In the Traditional Chinese Southern Lion Dance competition integrating traditional, story-telling and fun elements, West District edged out Xiaolan Town to take the first place. In the Dragon Dance competition, Xiaolan won by impressive performance.
