"So this is how Cantonese opera performers apply makeup, practice basic skills and walk on the stage!" Mrs Li, a resident of Tanzhou Town, said after experiencing a Cantonese opera class with her daughter.

On the evening of September 26, the Cantonese Opera Cultural Market opened in the Tanzhou Civil Square. The audience could not only enjoy classic Cantonese opera performances and Sanxiang puppet shows on the stage but also observe performers applying makeup and putting on costumes at the auditorium. They could even engage in basic Cantonese opera skills training with their families.

The market set up eight booths respectively for Cantonese opera performances, Sanxiang puppet shows, Cantonese music (including the Lyu Wencheng exhibition and live performances) and etc, attracting many citizens.

The Cantonese Opera Cultural Market will also be held in Shenwan Town, Wuguishan District, Banfu Town, West District and Sanxiang Town.
