The 25th Zhongshan Senior Games opened at Zhongshan Gymnasium on the morning of November 14.
The Games comprised a total of nine events, including four individual events such as table tennis, basketball, Chinese chess and American billiards, as well as five team events such as gate ball, fitness ball (aerobics), roliball, Tai Chi boxing (sword) and square dancing. A total of 610 athletes from 30 teams representing different towns, districts and departments will take part in the games.
All competitions will take place from November 16 to 21. At the closing ceremony, outstanding teams and individuals will be awarded, including the top 8 teams with the highest scores, the top 8 individuals/teams of each event, as well as winners of Morality Awards and the Excellent Organization Awards.
Since the first session in 1986, the Zhongshan Senior Games have become one of the most influential mass sports competitions with the most sessions, the longest duration and the most participants in Guangdong.
