The 2024 National "Village BA" Guangdong Competition opened in Shaxi Town, Zhongshan on September 8. Twenty-three teams from 21 cities across the province will compete for the prestigious glory of countryside basketball.

Exhibition and trade activities are held at the main venue in Shaxi, with such exhibitions areas for special agricultural products, culture and tourism, intangible cultural heritage and food set up for visitors.

Shaxi Gongs and Drums, Drunken Dragon Dance and other wonderful performances with Zhongshan characteristics were staged one after another, kicking off the competition.

The opening match was held between Zhongshan Shaxi, champion of the 2023 national "Village BA", and Yunfu Liantan, and the home team had the last laugh with a score of 73:59.

The competition has 4 divisions, with the main division in Shaxi and three sub-divisions in South District, Guzhen and Nanlang. The competition will last for 8 days, and the final will take place on September 15.
