The King's Singers, one of the world's most celebrated acappella ensembles, made its first-ever appearance in Zhongshan, delivering a mesmerizing performance at the Zhongshan Culture & Art Center.
The repertoire was like a chronology of music, including classic songs over The King's Singers' half-century-long career covering traditional folk songs, opera overtures, pop songs and blockbuster film music.
For its China tour, The King's Singers has also prepared some Chinese songs, including the adapted She Came to My Concert of Jacky Cheung and The Moon Represents My Heart of Teresa Teng. During the encore, they surprised the audience with a Cantonese classic, Love and Passion.
Since its founding in 1968, The King's Singers has maintained its signature six-voice harmony structure. With two Grammy awards, one Emmy award, and selection into Gramophone magazine's inaugural "Hall of Fame", it has built an unparalleled "pyramid of vocal perfection".
