The 2025 Guangdong Youth Baseball Championship curtained up at the Zhongshan International Baseball and Softball Center (Pandas Heritage Stadium) on July 14.

The tournament drew 14 teams with 256 young athletes from cities including Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Foshan. Competing in Senior Division and Junior Division, they will play 38 matches through July 21.

The opening game was fierce between Foshan and Shenzhen, with the latter dominating 10-0 through pitching and hitting.

As the hometown of Sun Yat-sen, Zhongshan has integrated baseball and softball development with urban growth, building a comprehensive industrial chain spanning sports events, culture and tourism and manufacturing.
