An introductory training course provided by "Applied Wing Chun" master Duncan Leung opened in Chongkou Village on July 14, attracting many youth participants.
As the first private disciple of Wing Chun legend Ip Man, Leung will integrate traditional martial arts essence with modern combat techniques during the five-day program, offering students a unique kung fu experience.
Born in 1942 in Hong Kong to ancestors from Chongkou Village in Zhongshan, Leung was introduced to Ip Man by Bruce Lee in 1955 and became Ip's first personal student in Hong Kong in 1958.
The "Applied Wing Chun" system founded by Leung combines traditional Wing Chun with contemporary fighting methods, emphasizing real-world application. This innovative approach has earned international acclaim in martial arts circles.
Beyond teaching skills, Leung's return to his ancestral hometown aims to ignite young people's passion for traditional Chinese martial arts and advance the preservation of Lingnan culture.
