Zhongshan athletes claimed four gold medals at the 14th Guangdong Middle School Games on July 17.

That afternoon, Pan Yuchen of Zhongshan Jianxun Middle School delivered the first triumph, scoring 8.986 in the junior girls' compulsory wushu routine. 

Li Enzhe soon followed with another gold in the junior boys' compulsory routine, posting 8.910 points.

In the pool, Li Yipin made waves by breaking the girls' 100m freestyle record (56.82s) to secure Zhongshan's inaugural swimming gold. She later teamed up with Chen Jiaxi, Yang Haoyu and Zhang Weihao to dominate the mixed junior 4×50m freestyle relay.

The next morning, Jiang Jiahui added a fifth gold with her victory in the senior girls' optional southern staff routine at the wushu competitions.
