The quarterfinals of the southern division of this year's national rural basketball tournament, or "Village BA", took place at Aiguo Village in Hunan province on the evening of August 25.

Representing Guangdong, the Zhongshan Shaxi and Foshan Nanhai teams met in a fierce showdown. In the end, Zhongshan Shaxi fell just short, losing 80-85 to Foshan Nanhai.

Zhongshan Shaxi will go on to compete in the 5th-8th place playoffs. The fifth-place finisher will secure a ticket to the "Village BA" national finals to be hosted in Guizhou province.
