A special exhibition on Zheng Guanying and his industrial practice and world of thought has opened at Zhongshan Museum, running through November 18.

Organized into six thematic sections, the exhibition combines visual displays, textual narratives and abundant artifacts to showcase Zheng Guanying's industrial ventures and intellectual legacy.

Zheng Guanying (1842–1921), hailing from Yongmo township in Xiangshan county (today's Zhongshan), Guangdong, was a pioneering late-Qing thinker advocating democratic and scientific enlightenment, as well as a prominent industrialist. His work Words of Warning to a Prosperous Age proposed actionable reforms across politics, economy, military, diplomacy and culture in modern China.
Zhongshan museum will also launch an exhibition on October 24, commemorating the centennial of cinematographer Huang Shaofen's career. The exhibition chronicles his legendary journey as the director of photography for China's first color film.
