As a warm-up of Annabelle Louie's Eternal Love Zhongshan concert, the event bridged the gap between the veteran Cantonese pop icon and her hometown audience. Her solo concert will take place on December 12 at South District Civil Arts Center.
Born in Hong Kong with ancestral roots in South District's Dutou Village, Louie rose to fame in 1981 through a duet with Micheal Kwan called When People Are Tears on the Road and her signature track Don't Remember the Old Dreams. A defining voice of early-mid 1980s Cantonese pop, she remains a beloved cultural figure.
Over the past two years, Louie has frequently returned to Zhongshan, deepening her connection to the city. "Zhongshan feels like a perfect place to settle, with its welcoming vibe and incredible food. Many of friends even come here specifically to taste the local delicacies," Louie shared.
