A 19-member Swiss Hung Gar delegation visited Zhongshan on October 13. All are overseas disciples of internationally renowned Hung Gar master Chiu Chi Ling, a third-generation direct descendant in Wong Fei Hung's lineage.

During the trip, they explored the heritage of Iron Wire Fist, a core Hung Gar form recognized as part of Zhongshan's intangible cultural heritage, exchanged techniques with local martial artists, and toured cultural landmarks to experience Zhongshan's rich heritage and vibrant tourism scene.

"I had heard stories about Dr Sun Yat-sen before coming here. I learned so much today, and now I have a much more vivid, firsthand understanding of him and the development of modern China," said Martin Sewer, head of the Swiss branch of the International Chiu Chi Ling Association, during the visit to the Museum of Dr Sun Yat-sen in Cuiheng village. He described Zhongshan as a wonderful city with something to spark curiosity around every corner.

At the Feng Chao Wan Creative World in Dongfeng town, the delegation toured the revitalized block, tasted local specialties such as Shiqi squab, crispy grass carp and chrysanthemum sashimi, and tried their hand at making traditional lacquer fans, an intangible cultural heritage craft.

The Chiu Chi Ling Kung Fu Film Exhibition Hall, the main venue for the martial arts exchanges, is located in the Feng Chao Wan Creative World. The visitors examined martial arts manuals, historical records of kung fu schools and archival footage. Hung Gar practitioners from China and overseas also gave demonstrations and exchanged techniques, strengthening their friendship.
