The grand theater of the China National Opera House in Beijing was full to capacity and buzzing on the evenings of November 2 and 3, as the Zhongshan original drama play "Dr Sun Yat-sen" was staged to mark the 160th anniversary of Sun Yat-sen's birth.

The production traced Sun Yat-sen's life from his youthful resolve and years abroad to his embrace of revolution and lifelong campaign to save and rejuvenate China.
