On December 29, 2023, China (Hong Kong) English School (short for C.H.E.S.) held the 30th New Year Charity Carnival at the three campuses of Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary School. Teachers, students and parents raised a total of more than 300,000 yuan through charity performances and charity sales (all the money will be donated to the Red Cross Society of China Zhongshan Branch and other public welfare organizations to support all walks of life to help those in need and the poor).

On the day of the event, all the C.H.E.S. campuses were busy and full of fun. After the wonderful artistic performances, the charity carnival began with a variety of stalls filled with dazzling posters and sizzling food, which attracted a big crowd.

Food is the main theme of the carnival in the Secondary School, with more than 100 kinds of food on sale at 32 different stalls. The two Students' Union leaders in front of the fundraising stand enthusiastically announced the latest fundraising figures. Miss Liu Sitong, a graduate of class 2020 and her friends once again came to the Alma mater's annual charity carnival, feeling a lot: "C.H.E.S. taught us charity and love, which helps us stay positive and full of energy in our life." Student Zhao Yifan, the new President of the Students' Union, said, "C.H.E.S. has always had a fine tradition of charity and dedication. The Charity Carnival enriches students' extracurricular life and cultivates their love for the community. I think it is very meaningful."

With honorary qualifications such as "The First Batch of Bilingual Schools in China", "National Outstanding Social Organization" and "National Outstanding Private Education Collective", C.H.E.S. has built a complete K12 education system consists of kindergarten, primary, junior middle and senior high school, and has been holding charity carnival activities for 30 consecutive years. Dr. Jonathan K.C. Choi, Chairman of the board, introduced that the New Year Charity Carnival has become a public welfare brand activity of C.H.E.S. Every year, the students spontaneously perform and sell hand-made foods for charity, and all the donations received are donated to the Red Cross Society of China Zhongshan Branch and relevant charitable organizations. Over the past 30 years, the accumulated donations have exceeded 7 million yuan (excluding Dr. Choi's personal contribution).
