In order to encourage students to develop their interests in English learning and express themselves through music, the English Department held the "Finding the Voice of CHES" English singing competition at the end of March, providing a stage for junior form students to showcase their vocal talent, artistic creativity and passion for music.

The school invited music teacher Ms Lin Ziyu, foreign teachers Mr Tyler Huff and Mr Simon Shepherd, senior English teachers Ms Jennifer Dai and Ms Dora Xu to form a professional judge panel. They scored the contestants based on their vocal ability, stage style, interpretation of the song, and overall performance.

The event was very lively and full of joy. The contestants participated in various forms, including solo, harmonious duet, fun triet, and even class chorus. They all selected songs that touched their heartstrings, fully demonstrating their unique artistic style and talent. Whether it was classic ballads or dynamic pop songs, contestants conveyed their emotions and creativity through their songs. In the sea of music, the students watching the competition were also resonated with enthusiasm, and actively cheered for the students performing on the stage. The whole event was filled with the charm of music and the atmosphere of celebration.

Mr Tyler Huff, a foreign English speaking teacher, said the selection of songs by the students was full of youthful vitality, and the chorus also showed a engaging team spirit. "The contestants acted calmly and confidently on the stage, fully reflecting the versatile style of our CHES students."
