China is a country with a long history and rich culture. Each of its cities possesses unique charm and characteristics. From May 15 to 17, the middle school department organized an English event titled "Discovering China" - a competition promoting tourism resources of Chinese cities. Participants showcased the abundant resources and distinctive charm of Chinese cities through captivating speeches and creative promotions. Through this activity, students gained a deeper understanding and appreciation of the unique beauty of Chinese cities.

The participants showcased the culture, history, scenery and distinctive features of each city through PowerPoint and video presentations. For instance, some students selected Beijing as their showcase city, highlighting renowned attractions and cuisine such as the Forbidden City, the Great Wall, and Peking Duck to illustrate the unique allure and historical legacy of Beijing as China's capital. Another city that many students opted for was Hong Kong. By demonstrating the charm and dynamism of the Pearl of the Orient, the students showcased its economy, nightlife scene, and distinct blend of Chinese and Western cultures.
