On New Year's Day, China (Hong Kong) English School (short for CHES) was invited to participate in the New Year's Day Charity Sale organized by the Red Cross Society of China Zhongshan Branch. Guo Wenhai, secretary of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, specially visited CHES' charity booth and had a warm conversation with the students of the school Red Cross, expressing his appreciation for their kind deeds.
On December 31, 2024, the primary and secondary sections both held grand charity carnival events. All the teachers and students and many parents participated in the events by using charity coupons, setting up stalls for charity sales and organizing performances to raise funds for the Red Cross Society of China Zhongshan Branch and the school's public welfare causes.
The charity carnival's stalls for sale are doing a roaring trade.
On December 28, 2024, the kindergarten also held a grand New Year's charity carnival. In an atmosphere of love and kindness, all the kids and teachers welcomed the new year.
Over 4,000 teachers, students and parents from all three sections took part in the events, running more than 150 stalls for food, charity sale and games and raising over 300,000 yuan in total. In the new year, these funds will be able to help more people in need.

This year's charity carnivals had a special theme - 2024 marked the 30th anniversary of China (Hong Kong) English School. The fundraising activities in each section were infused with the joyous elements of celebrating the 30th anniversary.
Many alumni from home and abroad came back to their alma mater to participate in the charity carnivals and celebrate this significant day. CHES students in different parts of the world also sent their congratulations to the school through videos.

Dr Chuck, Dang Jae, one of the second high school graduates in 2007, who studied in the University of Hong Kong and got his doctor's degree there, is currently working in the School of Information Science and Technology at the University of Hong Kong on artificial intelligence chip research. He said in his video: "The ten years at my alma mater were a very important period of my life... I want to tell all the younger students watching this video to cherish every day at school."
Yang Yong, a graduate of 2015 who was admitted to the University of Adelaide in Australia and is now a cybersecurity consultant at a company in Shenzhen, showed his alma mater's school jacket under his coat and said: "CHES, go, go, go!"
Li Yunran, a graduate of 2020 and a current doctoral student at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in New York State, USA, said: "I sincerely wish my alma mater all the best from overseas."
Zhang Wenxi, a graduate of the same year and a current postgraduate student at China University of Political Science and Law, wished CHES students to work hard and have a bright future.
